On the night of June 20-21, Ukrainian armed forces launched a series of drone attacks targeting strategic locations on the Russian-annexed Crimean Peninsula. These attacks notably included strikes on the Kerch port, where a fire broke out at a terminal used for storing petroleum products, according to regional reports.
Impact on Infrastructure and Military Response
The Telegram channel Exilenova+ reported that the fire was concentrated at the "TES-Terminal," a railway complex involved in transshipment and storage of petroleum products and liquefied gas. Additionally, there were indications that the port of Kavkaz may have been affected. Fires were also recorded in the Kurortnoe settlement, home to an air defense facility, as well as near military unit No. 98546 in the Kerch vicinity.
In response to the drone incursions, Russian-appointed Governor of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhaev, announced that local military units were actively engaging the unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) with air defense systems and mobile fire groups. He confirmed that four drones were shot down in the Balaklava and Fiolent Cape areas, and so far no casualties have been reported.
"The military is working to neutralize enemy UAVs using various means of destruction, including small arms," stated Razvozhaev.
Furthermore, the movement of vehicles across the Crimean Bridge was temporarily suspended amid security precautions. Authorities instructed individuals present on or near the bridge to comply with transportation security personnel directives.
